Position Requirements: Experience locating underground facilities
•Demonstrated knowledge of gas, electric, and fiber facilities
•Demonstrated knowledge of Delaware 811law "Underground Facilities”
Job Description: High-level attention to detail, both collaborative and individual work (being a self-starter, independent thinker & worker)
REQUIRED:- Knows how to operate locator equipment (Radio Detection) or being familiar with similar types of equipment—using to locate underground electrical facilities
- Being proficient with driving company vehicle
- Being able to coach & mentor other locators on deficiencies
a. Undergound utility locating experience required - Ability to locate underground electric and gas - Damage investigation background b. 3yrs or more c. NA d. Ability to use multiple brands of underground locating equipment accurately and efficiently e. Damage Prevention experience preferred f. Computer literate: Able to use Microsoft, Excel, Teams, Power BI, Outlook, PPT, etc g. Must have experience with underground utility locatin
PLUSES:
-Basic MS Suite applications (intermediate)
BONUS SKILLSET:
-Bilingual, fluent in both English & Spanish
5+ years of locator experience, auditing experience (misc. utility tickets) quality assurance, training & mentoring locators, investigating damages to underground infrastructure, familiar with misc. utility laws and regulation standards
Preferred industry experience: UtilitySoft Skills: High Level accountability, Willingness to Collaborate, Conflict Resolution & Great Communication/People Skills, Adaptable & Flexible
Damage Prevention team investigates all underground damage to our infrastructure to provide detailed information of at-fault and documentation supporting. Outreach and education on safe digging practices. Working and auditing 3rd party contractors and COCs on safe digging. Provide presentations on MISS Utility, State Damage Prevention laws, and Rules to Dig By. Work closely with our contract locators by auditing their work, coaching and engaging to assist in performance improvement. We are a 24/7 department where after hours response may be needed.
