Role:
Responsible for managing/coordinating Warehouse & Receiving operations to continuously optimize utilization of resources and materials in the most efficient manner. Ensure the timely handling, staging and rotation of components/products to support Processing & Packaging operations. Promote and motivate an open and secure environment while ensuring efficiency in all aspects of receiving and warehousing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the warehouse personnel ensuring they are familiar with the company policies and procedures.
- Schedule and assign work to meet delivery requirements.
- Monitor, analyze, coordinate and optimize material flow, storage and logistics based on FIFO principles within the warehouse to minimize inventory write offs, increase efficiencies and reduce material handling.
- Manage and coordinate the staging and returns of materials, components to and from Packaging & Processing departments as required.
- Ensure that packaging supplies are distributed to each area in a timely manner to obtain the highest productivity.
- Responsible for the receiving of all allied product lines. Ensuring that all products are received in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review Carriers and Carrier contracts to ensure the best carriers and pricing available.
- Report on costs monthly and identify areas of concern.
- Responsible for monitoring storage costs and ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective use of cold storage facilities is maintained.
- Manage and maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels through the “Cycle Count Program”.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting the annual Physical Inventory Process.
- Report on audits including HACCP and safety.
- Review and report on Chep pallet inventory and track non-chep ins and outs.
Promote Food Safety/HACCP:
- Over see all production employee follow good manufacturing practices.
- Regularly review and monitor documentation of critical point checks.
- Enforce adherence to SOP’s and HACCP requirements.
Administration:
- Daily reviews of time and attendance records for departments under direct supervision.
- Authorize pay, hours worked and any other benefits that employees may be entitled to as per collective agreement.
- Keep the Operations Manager informed of all aspects of areas of responsibilities.
- Develop and review personal plans, ensuring they include goals that support key initiatives of the organization and personal development goals.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of freight, warehousing, and the transportation industry.
- Good computer skills, familiar with computerized online inventories.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the company.
- Good organization skills.
- Knowledge of workplace Health & Safety and HACCP regulations is an asset.
- Self-starter.
Accountability and Performance Measures:
- Ability to effectively manage routes and timely deliveries making sure products are handled with care.
- Able to assure customers receive product orders as scheduled.
- Ensure staff is well trained and knowledgeable of all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain good working relationships with 3rd party carriers.

Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Supervisory Training is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years in Materials Management with Supervisor experience.
- Ability to organize and adapt within a dynamic environment.

Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
