ROLE DESCRIPTION

To lead and manage eDiscovery initiatives, providing expert guidance and support to legal teams and clients. The role involves overseeing the administration of the eDiscovery platforms, implementing advanced data analytics, and ensuring best practices in data processing, collection of data, culling of data and document review projects.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Propose and implement data culling strategies, including advanced analytics and assisted review using various eDiscovery platforms.
  • Experienced in the full life cycle of the EDRM Model.
  • Oversee document review platform administration, including creating coding panels, searches, batching documents, search term reports (STR), developing workflows, clustering, and generating production sets.
  • Create and conduct QC/QA on production sets prior to delivery.
  • Proficient at using the eDiscovery platforms password Bank to decrypt certain password-protected files during inventory, discovery and basic and native imaging.
  • Provide technical assistance related to the review platform, ranging from user and admin training sessions to troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of best practices related to data processing, the use of advanced analytics, Ana, and document review project management.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in eDiscovery, providing guidance and support to legal teams and clients.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in eDiscovery and incorporate them into the workflow.
  • Lead and mentor a team of eDiscovery professionals, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • End-to-End project management of legal projects: from project scoping and set-up, through to execution and successful completion.
  • Working as part of Cognia’s Delivery team to understand our clients challenges and requirements, and help deliver practical and innovative solutions.
  • Facilitate team briefings and training, encompassing material creation and execution.
  • Effectively manage teams of 10+ resources, ensuring productivity and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proactively address risks, issues, and changes throughout project life-cycles.
  • Skilfully manage stakeholder relationships to foster collaboration and understanding.
  • Lead lessons learned and project close-out activities for continuous improvement.
  • Exercise control over project scope and budget to meet client expectations.
  • Manage relationships clients, end-clients and other external stakeholders.
  • Plan, organise, and control the delivery of work, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop new Project Management tools and methodologies to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Able to assist/drive multiple projects simultaneously as needed.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Law degree from a top South African or UK/ EU based tertiary institution.
  • Certification in Relativity is preferable but Certification in other leading eDiscovery platforms will be considered.
  • 4+ years relevant experience in Data culling, analytics and using various eDiscovery Platforms
  • Ability to understand and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse data and generate insightful reports – utilising Power BI.
  • Articulate and confident.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional administrative skills.
