This is an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Training Manager(40 hours/week). As a valuable member of our team, all Clinical Training Managers are provided paid training to learn how to deliver clinical care and how to complete medical administrative tasks.

PPWI’s compensation philosophy is rooted in equity. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate’s applicable experience and internal equity. The Clinical Training Manager pay starts from $35.00 per hour.

Additional $1.50 per hour for bilingual (English/Spanish)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Clinical Training Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical training for licensed and non-licensed health center staff. This position facilitates initial and ongoing training of clinical staff, and identifies, develops, and coordinates training opportunities within the Patient Services team. In collaboration with clinical and operational leadership, the Clinical Training Manager will ensure that training is tailored to deliver high quality, culturally competent, patient centered care that meets the standards set forth by the agency as well as Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).   

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Demonstrated clinical proficiency, organizational, analytical, leadership and effective communication skills required. 
- Ability to effectively convey information using up to date techniques and technology.  
- Independently motivated to meet project management goals and objectives, with accuracy and attention to detail.  
- Demonstrated computers skills including Office 365 and Microsoft Office Products including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and experience with electronic health records. 
- CPR certifiable. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

- Current RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin. 
- Associate degree or diploma nursing required; Bachelor of Science Degree preferred. 
- Minimum of 1 year’s work as a RN, with some experience in family planning, case management, women’s health or an OB/GYN setting required.  
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience required. 

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:

Directly supervises staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.   

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling, and grasping regularly. May require lifting to 30 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator. Requires the ability to operate medical equipment. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

The position is generally performed in either an office environment or from an agency approved remote location and involves frequent interruptions.  The noise level is generally low to quiet.  The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations, however, may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform said essential functions. 

Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.   

This position may require occasional travel statewide. Therefore, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards and consistent access to transportation is required.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Clinical Training Program Development and Improvement: 

  • 1. Develop and implement initial and ongoing clinical training for health center staff that is consistent with their level of licensure and is in compliance with PPFA Training and Onboarding Requirements. 
  • 2. Facilitate online or on-site instructor-led training using a variety of tools for new and existing staff. Ensure a process is in place to maintain a training calendar, curriculum and materials.   
  • 3. Maintain knowledge of clinical practice, clinical workflows within electronic health records (EHR) for incorporation into staff training. Revise and implement staff training as needed. 
  • 4. Provide guidance to clinical trainers in their daily duties to include problem solving any forthcoming concerns/issues. 
  • 5. Organize meetings with clinical leadership and health center management to ensure detailed understanding of onboarding training and processes. 
  • 6. Organize and facilitate meetings with training facilitators from other departments quarterly to evaluate ongoing training needs.  
  • 7. Ensure training documentation and tools are current. Monitor trainees’ orientation progress and communicate with clinical trainers and health center management as appropriate.  
  • 8. Assist with the development and maintenance of PPWI policies and procedures.  
  • 9. Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures, state, and local laws, PPFA standards and recommendations impacting care assessment, access, and delivery. 
  • 10. Participate in other projects/committees as requested to contribute to the agency’s overall goals and objectives.  
  • 11. Create and sustain a healthy work environment. Adhere to and enforce established policies and procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements with agencies such as OSHA, CLIA and PPFA. 
  • 12. Model, communicate, and celebrate Planned Parenthood’s “In This Together” employee engagement and patient experience framework. 
  • 13. Monitor and assess the staff training and onboarding using data and feedback from patients and staff to continuously enhance the effectiveness of clinical training. Work with clinical trainers, health center management, clinical leadership, staff, and other departments on training, evaluation, and developmental needs for clinical staff. 
  •  14. Maintain current knowledge of evidence based clinical practice and EHR and respond by revising and implementing staff training as needed. 
  • 15. Perform other duties as assigned.
