About The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst with experience in the nonprofit sector and a solid background in accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting to support our organization’s mission. You will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial tracking and compliance with regulations. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting principles, and a passion for nonprofit work are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Support the monitoring and tracking of departmental and organizational budgets
- Collaborate with team members to review budget variances and provide input on necessary changes
- Assist with updating presentation material for board decks
- Support senior analysts by compiling data and developing preliminary recommendations to enhance resource allocation and support organizational goals
- Assist Senior Analyst in various financial planning processes, including but not limited to:
- Preparing and analyzing financial reports, including monthly budget vs. actuals
- Annual budget
- Understanding and planning headcount hours
- Monthly and quarterly forecast updates
- Ad hoc analysis as needed by internal stakeholders
- Work with internal teams to support new grant proposals as needed
- Gather and verify financial information required for grant applications
- Assist in analyzing and improving existing financial workflows by gathering data, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending enhancements in collaboration with senior analysts and other departments
- Enter and maintain financial data in finance systems and databases
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required.
- 2+ years of Finance or Accounting experience required.
- Knowledge of nonprofit/fund accounting, federal contracts, cooperative agreements and grants management is required.
- Experience in assisting with budgets and projecting indirect cost rates.
- High degree of digital fluency using cloud-based office tools such as GSuite, CRM’s, team collaboration tools, and other web-based applications; ability to incorporate these tools into day-to-day work.
- Ability to use data to develop charts and graphs in Excel (using advanced functions) and create Powerpoint presentations.
- Experience in multi-year forecasts involving headcount budgeting allocated to a large number of cost centers.
- Ability to succeed and thrive in an environment with vying priorities and deadlines.
- Self-starter with proven attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, great communication, and the ability to work with internal stakeholders.

- Salary range of $70,000-80,000 commensurate with experience and internal equity
- 403(b) plan with 200% match up to a maximum contribution from VentureWell of 10% when the employee puts it 5% (eligible after one year of service for the match)
