Responsibilities:
- The HVAC Refrigerant Loop Release Engineer is responsible for the development and validation of the automotive A/C lines and A/C Compressor.
- The candidate will ensure the A/C lines and Compressor meet performance objectives and will coordinate development with other functional areas such as BIW Under hood, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, and suppliers.
- Duties will include writing source packages, specifications, requirements, change notices and overall supplier management to meet program timing and deliverables.
- The candidate will maintain a component DVP&R, Candidate will also support pilot build process at the assembly plant for development and installation of HVAC refrigerant loop components.
Basic qualifications, experience, and knowledge : - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university.
- 3-5 years of experience in HVAC and duct design/development. Other related design experience (Engine cooling, Aero-Thermal) also a plus.
- Strong PC + MS Office skills required. Excellent written, verbal and listening skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and motivated to produce results.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Basic thermodynamics knowledge.
Preferred qualifications: - Experience in A/C lines and Compressors a plus.
- Experience using CAD software (NX, Catia, etc.)
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics.
- Automotive assembly plant experience.
