Job title: Clinical Lead - JETS Workforce

The NED clinical lead will work in partnership with the NED chair and JAG programme manager (data and Training) to improve the delivery of NED.

You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement within the NED project and exploiting the potential applications of NED for driving improvements in patient outcomes. You will oversee improvements of NED, work with stakeholders to highlight benefits, and share ideas and opportunities for new developments.

You will represent NED in external meetings and act as a key point of contact on behalf of JAG for relevant stakeholders such as medical colleges, societies, professional and regulatory bodies and endoscopy reporting system suppliers.

Responsibility for the day-to-day management of JAG and its programmes including NED, lies with the JAG team based at the Royal College of Physicians.

We are looking for the successful candidate to take up the role from July 2024 on an informal basis to allow shadowing and handover with the current clinical lead. The role will formally commence from 1 September 2024. The appointment will be for 2 years with a possible further agreement for one year.

The time commitment is on average half a day per week and renumeration for this post is in line with the RCP’s clinical release supplement policy. There will therefore be a reimbursement of a maximum of £6,000 per year to the successful candidate’s employer. The RCP will not make any additional reimbursements as part of the agreement related to this role. Appointees can also claim reimbursement of all eligible expenses incurred in carrying out their roles, in line with RCP Accreditation Unit’s policy.
