Title:Fire Protection Design Engineer
Location:Las Vegas, NV and Sterling ,VA
Job Summary The Fire Protection-Design Engineer I will assist higher-level designers in tasks such as the creation of engineering documents, hydraulic calculations, shop drawings, field prints, and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities - Performs basic deliverables and products such as hydraulic calculations, drawings, and specifications related to water-based fire suppression systems under supervision of Senior Engineers or Designers.
- Performs basic hydraulic calculations, equipment selection and pipe sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
- Assists in coordinating all aspects of the project design with project management, architects, and other trades through the completion phase of a project.
- Performs and audits CADD drafting work in AutoSprink and REVIT.
Qualifications - Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
- 0-4 years' experience
- EIT and/or NICET certification preferred
- Basic Knowledge of applicable system design, such as automatic sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, etc.
- Basic ability to read fire protection, architectural, civil, mechanical and plumbing plans
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.
