Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for packout of individual patient orders in shipping containers appropriate to stability requirements of drugs and creating accompanying FedEx shipping labels. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Receives color-coded bins containing individual patient orders after verified by PV2 pharmacist and prioritize packing by bin color (temperature stability). Packs orders in appropriate shipping container following standard operating procedures to insure all contents belong to the correct patient order and follow seasonal packing configuration guidelines for container size, frozen gel pack size and number and insulation layers as communicated by management.
Generates shipping labels from FedEx workstation by scanning barcode on delivery tickets into Fedex computer and following standard operating procedures to validate accuracy of shipping label compared to delivery ticket. Review additional shipping instructions on Delivery Ticket and select appropriate options on FedEx screens to insure that the correct FedEx services and signature requirements are met. Print label, affix to container and place in correct holding area for FedEx pickup.
Keeps packing and shipping area organized and stocked with sufficient quantities of shipping materials to meet daily business needs. Removes trash as needed.
Assists with receiving FedEx, UPS and deliveries from other carriers as needed and receives deliveries of supplies from shipping supply vendors. Assists with organizing storage area.
Assists with restocking and rotation of inventory in the dispensing area as time permits and participates in counting assigned sections during the monthly physical inventory process.
Performs all required corporate training programs in a timely manner and attends department and facility meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: HSD/GED
Experience: 1 to 3 years pharmacy mail order experience preferred. Florida licensed Pharmacy Technician preferred.
