Responsibilities:
Provide machining and programming expertise in support of the Specialty Tooling Department. Setup and Operate CNC machinery with some potential Programming, for the fabrication of die/mold production. Responsible for all milling operation(s) (includes Okuma, Haas, Nidec, Toyoda, manual machines) (Updated machine list) and related key performance measures of operation adhering to BJAs and safe work practices. Responsible for the output of the shift (remove statement replace with Responsible for machine output throughout manned and unmanned shifts). Adjusting work assignments as necessary to guarantee effective workflow to schedule. Evaluating machine feeds/speeds/cutting tools to continuously improve throughput cost effectively through teamwork. Monitor crew members daily activities to include work output and team cooperation. Assist in the development of repair processes to ensure timely completions. Serve as the primary training source for less experienced machinists and fill in were necessary on equipment to maintain schedule.
Proficiency in mathematics, computer 2-3D drafting, G/M codes, and general computing skills Perform part inspection using micrometers, calipers, height indicator, etc. Be able to provide part program code for all Specialty Toolings CNC machines by utilizing customer drawings, project communications and Master CAM machining software. Configure cutting tools required and ensure efficient production of die/molds. Analyze drawings and design data to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates. Monitor output and proper operation of CNC machines. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quality requirements. Use AutoCAD Mechanical and Autodesk Inventor to create CAD drawings in either 2D or 3d formats. Tooling Design: create drawings for specially ground tooling for die/mold production.

The challenge for this position is to meet agreed upon schedule timelines, cost effectively in a supportive teamwork environment while meeting specifications. The demand for dies exceeds the functions capacity to produce. It is therefore critical that the function achieve maximum balance.
Knowledge and Experience:
8+ years experience in machine shop and CNC mill operations equipment
2-5 years programming experience on Master CAM and AutoCAD
Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming
Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufactured die/molds
Proficient in the use of measuring equipment (+/- 0.002 tolerances) to inspect your work
Minimum high school degree
Trade school or Associates degree or certificate in related field preferred
