THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Strategic Organizing Center (SOC) is seeking a Senior Strategic Research Analyst (Senior SRA) to lead research projects, shape campaign strategy and execute campaign tactics in partnership with SOC and affiliate organizing, research, legal, and communications staff.
THE WORK:
- Contribute to innovation in the SOC’s approach to research and campaign strategy.
- Develop and test new tools, theories and strategies in coordination with SOC leadership.
- Examine market and industry trends, analyze the strategies of key market players and track relevant policy and legislative developments.
- Design and execute comprehensive research plans.
- Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research using a wide variety of resources and methodologies.
- Draft and edit written work products for a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate, review and support the research and written work of junior analysts assigned to specific projects.
- Provide feedback to team members in support of their skill and professional development.
- Participate in campaign field activities with unions, workers and coalition partners.

- Mentorship and Development: Demonstrated experience training, developing, and coordinating the work of junior staff members.

- Time Management: Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree or higher
- 4+ years of conducting research, including financial and corporate research
- 3+ years of experience with union, political or community organizing
- Spanish and/or other non-English language skills a plus.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Under current policy, SOC employees spend at least two days per week in-office at our Washington, DC or New York City office locations and may work remotely otherwise.
- Some travel required.
- Must be willing to work long and irregular hours, including work on weekends as necessary, based on campaign needs.
- The SOC has a mandatory COVID vaccine policy and safety protocols in both our office locations, including a required daily health screening survey for in-office days.

Compensation:
Salary is calculated based on years of experience, with annual increases according to an established salary scale. The salary range for this position is $83,561 - $91,309. This is a full-time exempt position.
