Job Tile: Senior Accountant
Location: Toronto, ON
Length of Assignment: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000-$85,000/year
Job Summary:Responsible for the full cycle accounting of the subsidiary. Ensuring financial data accuracy, integrity and adherence to strict reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for the full accounting process including but not limited to reconciliation of payroll, accruals, bank reconciliation, pre-payments and tax accounts
- Ensure all accounts are reconciled to the GL and are properly supported with appropriate back up documentation
- Responsible for the monthly IFRS financial reporting and analysis of financial statements including income taxes
- Spends most of their day dealing with LARGE volume of data collection & reconciliation of variances
- analytical work (review and investigate various accounts/cost centres & make decision on accounting adjustments required, variance analysis, flexible budget CPL analysis)
- Prepare Reporting for various government and non-government agencies – EHC, Bank, etc
- Account reconciliations/investigations
- Prepare and monitor expense and capex budgets as required
- Review the accuracy of ITC claims and stay abreast of sales tax, corporate tax development and assess impact to the organization
- Point of contact for all tax audits and tax authorities
- Assist with interim and year end audits
- Ensure clear visibility and up-to-date documentation overall tax matters as well as compliance with laws & regulations
- Oversee the accounts receivable process
- Oversee the accounts payable process including setting up electronic payments
- Ensure gaps in policies and processes are addressed and improved
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required
Qualifications: - 7+ years of relevant Canadian work experience
- Degree in Accounting, CA, CPA or CGA designation
- Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite programs
- Advanced skills in Excel (i.e.: Pivots and complex formulas)
- Attention to detail is a essential

- Excellent communication skills
- Time management – ability to manage and prioritize workload
- Willing to adapt to changing circumstances and environments
