Our client in York Region, ON is actively looking for an Senior Accountant (Public Accounting) to join their team.
Title: Senior Accountant (Public Accounting)
Location: York Region, ON
Length of Assignment: Full Time Permanent
Salary: $85000 - $90000/yr
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end engagements and tax returns for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises
- Ability to prepare and complete working papers, financial statements and tax returns according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprise
- Build effective working relationships with client contacts, and respond effectively to client requests and suggestions related to the engagement
- Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
Qualifications:
- CPA designation along with expansive knowledge of Canadian GAAP
- Minimum of five years of Canadian public accounting experience is required, including ability to organize and manage and review client assignments
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word and Excel), Caseware, Caseview, and Taxprep
- Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with ASPE reporting standards
- Good working knowledge of the Income Tax Act
- Strong knowledge of business, accounting and management practices along with excellent communication skills.
