Role Purpose

The Large Loss Claims Consultant (LLCC) is responsible for handling and resolving large and/or complex Property, Liability and Motor claims. Operating within company guidelines, the LLCC can authorise payments within delegated authority and where required, make appropriate recommendations to management on coverage and settlement.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy;

• Ability to empathise with members;

• Ability to manage numerous tasks within set timeframes to meet deadlines;

• Ability to share information, work within a team and positively contribute to the team environment;

• Ability to take ownership of the role and its requirements;

• Advanced skills in the use of MS Office, including Outlook;

• Ability to show initiative and work with minimum supervision;

• Ability to negotiate with a focus on achieving a sound outcome for the organization; and

• High level of service orientation.

Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience managing large and complex property and liability claims;

• Experience handling dispute resolution files;

• Experience instructing external parties such as assessors, lawyers, builders, etc; and

• Experience with report writing.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Financial Services (desirable)
