We are presently searching for a skilled management accountant to join our internal finance team. Therefore, if you want to be part of a company where you can make a significant impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you!</p><p>The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing and finalising management accounts up to the point of being reviewed by the Group Management Accountant. It would be preferable if the candidate also has experience with managing staff members.</p><p><strong>The important work you will be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Quarterly management accounts and financial analysis</li><li>Monthly management reporting including sales, WIP, time ledger, and other KPIs</li><li>Preparing all prepayments and accruals and other month-end journals</li><li>Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations</li><li>Reviewing and analysing both revenue and costs to support the accuracy of accounts, including providing accurate commentary and investigation into variances</li><li>Annual budgeting and forecasting</li><li>Analysing profitability and recovery</li><li>Supporting team members with time ledger input software queries</li><li>Assisting and contributing to the Group’s annual audit</li><li>Helping with regulatory reporting and compliance</li><li>Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and systems</li></ul><p><em>There will also be the opportunity to be involved in other areas of the Firm namely:</em></p><ul><li>VAT returns</li><li>Annual statutory accounts</li><li>Payroll for subsidiaries</li></ul><p><strong>The skills and experience you will bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Be a qualified or part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or be qualified by experience </li><li>Have an excellent working knowledge of Excel and a good working knowledge of Sage 200</li><li>Be methodical, and analytical and have good attention to detail</li><li>Be a team player who has a strong work ethic, along with a willingness to learn and seek guidance as appropriate</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>An inquisitive mind and is good at gathering evidence and solving problems</li></ul><ul></ul><h3>Why PKF Smith Cooper?</h3><ul><li>Our company culture, built on our values – Engage, Empower and Excel – encourages initiative, personal growth, and collaboration.
