Day in the Life:
· Ensure compliance with Federal & Provincial Payroll legislation and company policies
· Responsible for the Payroll Matrix and Union Wage Schedule for both Canada & US
· Work with Applications Team and the HR Team to ensure alignment with union contracts
· Assist in Union Remittance, contract review and payroll programming requirements
· Responsible for Government related remittance
· Assist in the issuing of T4’s/RL1s/W2s and all related Year End Reporting
· Research, resolve and provide guidance to the payroll teams with regards to employee inquiries regarding current and prior year, quarter and year-end tax statement discrepancies
· Performing audits/validations prior to running payrolls
· Act as a backup for Payroll Processing Leaders (Canada & US)
· Act as a backup for Workflow Request Queue in SuccessFactors Employee Central
· Process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, deductions, allowances etc. as required
· Run payroll departmental reports as required
· Monitor and address employee inquiries from the Payroll Support Helpdesk
· Liaison with branches on payroll and union related items
· Assist with other duties as assigned
What We Are Seeking:
· Bilingual in French and English
- Minimum 2 years multi-provincial (including Quebec) payroll processing experience
· Minimum 2 years of SAP Success Factors experience
· Union Contract experience
· Spectrum experience an asset
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel/Outlook
· Strong organizational skills
· Accuracy and attention to detail a must
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· CPA Certification an asset
