a Supply Planner to join their team.

Job Purpose Summary
The Supply Planner will be responsible for creating and maintaining a weekly level of supply plan to satisfy the demand plan and safety stock requirements. The incumbent will play a key role in the overall business growth and inventory management strategies. This position will work closely with the Demand Planning, Operations and Sales teams to ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The responsibilities and accountabilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain Supply Planning master data.
- Generate Supply Planning.
- Review and manage supply plan exceptions.
- Monitor, plan and schedule production requirements to satisfy customer requirements.
- Monitor, plan and schedule production to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and
- recommend appropriate action,
- Define and conduct cycle counts as required, investigate variances and determine root cause.
- Collaborate with Finite Scheduler to manage exceptions in constrained periods and update constrained plans.
- Maintain and manage MRP requirements.
- Review and regularly update the SAP min and max inventory levels and ABC classification for all standard manufactured products to satisfy corporate requirements.
- Develop better reporting to assist with managing seasonal items and slow-moving items.
- Create STOs for intercompany stock requirements, as required. Ensure good communication on STO requirements with producing plant.
- Review demand and available capacity and identify possible bottlenecks. Propose alternative capacity for those areas needing capacity improvement required to meet demand.
- Participate and play an active role in planning improvements projects and support the rollout of best practices.
- Ensure adequate levels of slit coil are maintained in the province and provide a rolling forecast to the Processing team to ensure healthy levels of inventory are maintained at the most effective cost.
- Understand, support, and adhere to the company's health and safety polices, programs and procedures by communicating and promoting health and safety awareness.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience within an inventory management or production planning role.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
- Experience with SAP is an asset.
- Scheduling experience is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills necessary.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-Starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of commercial construction practices and principles an asset.
- Preference given to those candidates with prior experience working for manufacturers or distributors of construction products.
