Be at the forefront of innovation: We're seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to join our team at a prestigious aerospace and defense company. In this role, you'll contribute to the design, development, and support of cutting-edge embedded software solutions for a globally recognized producer of land-based combat vehicles.


On-site Presence:
Hybrid - Due to the nature of the work, this role may require on-site presence up to 100%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and configure VxWorks, Linux, or other embedded operating systems to advance capabilities.
  • Execute Linux system programming tasks, including driver development and hardware enablement for embedded Linux systems.
  • Integrate diverse software into robust build systems to elevate solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions, ensuring consistent improvements.
  • Employ cryptography and secure architectures to safeguard embedded systems.
  • Efficiently manage individual priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional results.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with an emphasis on Software Development.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a software role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting low-level software issues and distinguishing between hardware and software problems.
  • Strong skills in developing sustainable C and / or C++ code.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and multitasking skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
  • Willingness to travel to support offsite loads and testing when necessary.
 
Additional Skills Desired:
 
  • Familiarity with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, or other system programming
  • Experience with safety-critical systems or real-time systems
  • Proficiency with build environments like Build root, Open Embedded, or especially Yocto
  • Familiarity with GIT, DOORs, Jira / Bitbucket / Confluence, gdb, or QT
  • Knowledge of security features like SELinux, verified boot, and trusted execution environments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
