Director of Scheduling - High Rise Commercial Construction

Position Overview: As the Director of Scheduling, this individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely execution of commercial construction high-rise projects. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, coordinating with various departments, subcontractors, and suppliers, and implementing scheduling best practices to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development and Management:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).

    • Conduct regular progress assessments, identify critical path activities, and make necessary adjustments to optimize project timelines.

  • Coordination and Communication:

    • Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to align scheduling efforts with project goals and objectives.

    • Facilitate regular meetings to review project schedules, address potential conflicts, and provide updates to the project team.

  • Resource Allocation:

    • Work closely with procurement and resource management teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and labor resources.

    • Evaluate resource constraints and propose solutions to maintain schedule adherence.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to proactively address delays or disruptions.

    • Monitor external factors (e.g., weather, regulatory approvals) and adjust schedules as needed.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all scheduling activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and client specifications.

    • Conduct regular quality checks on project schedules to maintain accuracy and integrity.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay current with industry trends, scheduling methodologies, and technologies to drive efficiency and innovation in scheduling processes.

    • Implement best practices and mentor team members to enhance scheduling capabilities within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • At least 3 years of experience in scheduling roles within the commercial construction industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other relevant tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
