MUST:
Active Secret Clearance required
5+ years as an AV Engineer
2+ years experience with computers I.e Macintosh, Windows (2007, 10).
2+ years knowledge of advance computer programs as required for the design configuration, and operation of AV equipment.
Understanding the Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal University space is a major plus.
2+ years' experience with basic signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
Knowledge or prior experience to use lecture hall control systems to include providing computer presentation access.
Knowledge of tele- and videoconferencing techniques
Ability to program, change, and troubleshoot AMX/Crestron
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
CompTIA Sec+ certification or willingness to get upon starting

DUTIES:
Perform development of audiovisual installation and purchasing plans in conjunction with the Director of the departments
Responsible for setting up, testing, operating, assessing, and repairing equipment required for live events, such as conference rooms, virtual classrooms, video conferences on various technologies.
Work with projectors, sound systems, microphones, sound mixing equipment, overhead projectors, video cameras, recording equipment, adjust amplifiers, video screens, speakers, and lighting.
Provide day-to-day operational support for trouble reports; adds/moves/change for VoIP, video conferencing and audio-visual equipment.
Work independently and as a productive member of a project team.
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprint.
Test audio Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and video processing systems software required for system functionality.
Provide engineering support to include translation of technical input from contractors to useable data for other staff.
Provide technical oversight on commissioning and maintenance of systems.
Meet with current/prospective vendors to help with updating current university systems.
Must be able to design wall plates and overlays for existing systems.
Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting.
Must be able to provide engineering and control system programming support for systems installed at the university.
Provide documented test results from system testing of equipment installed in teaching spaces.
The candidate will be required to review and provide installation project designs based on internal and external resources. Provide training to staff and faculty on equipment use. Make recommendations on improvements or repairs required for consistent functioning of the equipment in the teaching spaces.
The candidate will perform other duties as related to the job and mission of the MDL as assigned by the Director of MDL or his/her designee.
Be able to operate and troubleshoot projectors, microphone devices, Personal Computers (PCs), and Video Conferencing systems (Crestron/ Polycom).
Reconfigure furniture within conference/meeting rooms and ensure all necessary preparations for scheduled events are completed in a timely manner.
Perform pre-event check on Audiovisual (AV) systems to ensure the event will have fully operating equipment prior to scheduled start.
Provide outstanding customer service by establishing excellent working relationships with team members, meeting organizers, and vendors.
