Title: Trainer, Heavy Equipment

Position Summary: Experienced professional with a passion for training and safety. The heavy equipment trainer is responsible for developing, managing, documenting, and continually improving equipment training and other associated programs for operators. This individual is responsible for ensuring all training standards follow applicable state and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Minimum five years heavy equipment operating experience
· Minimum one year of site training experience
· Strong ability to assess skills and competencies of operators and their potential
· Strong ability to interact with site team (field, hourly and staff management)
· Proven track record of supporting safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project schedule
· Excellent administrative skills for the development, implementation and tracking of personnel training
· Safety ambassador for the terminal
· Strategic thinker with keen attention to detail
· Problem solving and analysis
· Excellent time management skills
· Strong administrative and organizational skills
· Good interpersonal and communication
· Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to lead by example, and utilize various communication methods to convey information
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Proficient with web-based training systems
· Must successfully clear pre-employment including: criminal background check, drug test, and physical.
· Must hold a valid driver's license with positive driving record.
Physical Requirements:
· Work in most weather conditions and around heavy machinery, which can be dangerous at times
· Shift work which may require early mornings, evenings and weekends
