We are a small team of experienced product leaders and operators building products from the ground up with the unique advantage of being backed by Fanatics ($31bn valuation) - the world's largest sports merchandiser, which includes 900 sports relationships, 90+ million reachable fans, and exclusive licensing deals with the MLB, NFL, and NBA.
The opportunity before us is vast. Live stream shopping in China currently equates to 20% of e-commerce ($300bn annually) while in the US, live stream shopping is on trajectory to double from 2022 to 2025.
 
The Role
 This role will be responsible for overseeing the Fanatics Live social media content, programming, and production strategy, as well as act as executive producer across all major content initiatives. Having a clear voice and identifying and scaling new marketing and social media channels is critical to Fanatics Live’s short and long term financial success.
 
This is a unique opportunity to join and make a lasting impact on a fast-growing company. The ideal candidate should be creative, highly analytical and goal oriented. This social media and content leader will need to be nimble and adaptable at the early stages of a fast growing startup. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing at Fanatics Live.
 

Responsibilities

  • Social Media Strategy Development: Create and implement comprehensive social media strategies that align with Fanatics Live's overall marketing objectives. Utilize insights and analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and key performance indicators to measure the success of campaigns.

  • Content Creation and Curation: Develop creative and compelling content tailored to sports and tech enthusiasts. This includes but is not limited to written posts, graphics, images, videos, and interactive elements. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and identify opportunities to leverage current events and topics to boost engagement.

  • Social Media Channel Management: Oversee and direct all Fanatics Live's social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Ensure brand consistency and voice across all channels.

  • Audience Engagement: Foster and nurture a vibrant social media community by actively engaging with followers, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Social Media Advertising: Develop and execute paid social media advertising campaigns to drive brand awareness, increase followers, and achieve marketing objectives. Monitor ad performance, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaigns.

  • Influencer and Partnership Management: Collaborate with influencers, athletes, and key stakeholders to expand Fanatics Live's brand reach and create exciting content collaborations. Demonstrate experience in managing relationships with social media agencies and content creators to maximize brand exposure.

  • Creative Direction: Bring a fresh and innovative perspective to the table, providing creative direction for visual content and ensuring consistency with Fanatics Live's brand identity and message.

  • Production and Editing: Possess the ability to shoot, edit, and produce high-quality photos and videos for use across social media platforms. Familiarity with relevant tools and software is essential.

  • Analytics and Reporting: Regularly create, monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement. Provide comprehensive reports to the marketing team and upper management.

  • Social Media Trends and Emerging Platforms: Stay informed about the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms. Evaluate their potential for Fanatics Live's brand and implement strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in production, content marketing, social media management, specifically in the sports and technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful social media strategies.
  • Proficiency in content creation, with a strong eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  • Strong video editing skills and familiarity with relevant software and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Experience managing both internal and agency contacts to support in scaling capabilities of a growing content team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
