Project Engineer - Exterior

The Opportunity:

As a Project Engineer specialising in exteriors, you'll be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of exterior components for our innovative vehicle models. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of our projects, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to drive innovation and excellence.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components.
• Own the closure systems and attribute delivery.
• Responsible for upholding the highest standards of geometry creation and GD&T.
• Report to Senior project engineers responsible for the relevant commodities.
• Prepares full project documents.
• Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products.
• Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle body systems: Closures, Panels, Active Aero, Body NVH, Body Heatshielding, Lighting, Wiper Systems, Sealing, Ornamentation and Trim, NVH, Glazing.
• Ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance.
• Identify and highlight any areas for continuous improvement.

Who you are:

• Strong and proven relevant experience required in exterior trim, closures of body mechanism.
• Significant closure system knowledge and experience, Doors, Hood, Tailgate, Charge/Fuel flap.
• Automotive experience essential.
• A ‘can do’ attitude and are always focused on achieving great results.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders & drive towards a common goal.
• A calm multitasker who successfully managed, prioritise and executes against deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
• A positive influence on those around you with a passion for creating an inclusive environment and fostering a culture of innovation.
