Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Manager, Donor Relations to join our Development team! The Manager, Donor Relations will be responsible for establishing and building upon Team Rubicon’s Donor Recognition Program, The Arena, as well as developing and implementing strategies to enhance donor engagement. This will require partnering with key stakeholders to align donor relations strategies with overall fundraising goals and ensuring the proper tracking and reporting of program activities. The Manager, Donor Relations will also create personalized donor experiences to foster long-term engagement, including events, impact reporting, and broader Arena communications to promote year-round engagement.

This position reports to TR’s Director, Development Operations and can be based out of TR’s National Headquarters (LAHQ) in Los Angeles, CA, TR's Tactical Operations Center (TOC) in Chicago, IL, or TR's National Operations Center (NOC) in Grand Prairie, TX.
Duties:
- Identify and implement new strategies to grow and enhance a personalized donor experience, continuously evaluating and refining donor relations strategies based on both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Develop and create personalized stewardship plans for key Arena members, ensuring timely and meaningful acknowledgement of all donations and consistent touchpoints to communicate impact.
- Develop and activate pathways to deepen relationships with donors, providing data-driven recommendations to build, enhance, and establish The Arena.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor records in CRM system, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities, providing regular reports on donor relations activities to senior management.
- Develop and manage donor relations program budget, ensuring cost-effective uses of resources while maximizing engagement.
- Partner and collaborate with key staff to gather impactful communications, leveraging storytelling and compelling narratives for external communications, providing a personalized donor experience.
- Plan and execute donor events and other engagement activities, both virtual and in-person.
- Take lead in reactive, emergency fundraising opportunities in times of disaster or crisis, supporting Team Rubicon’s mission and strategic fundraising goals.
- Assist with other projects as needed.
Education and Background:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- 5-7 years nonprofit development experience working within donor relations & fundraising, understanding the trends in the shifting philanthropic landscape
- Experience in marketing communications, nonprofit management, or related field is highly preferred
- Ability to build strong cross-department relationships and actively collaborate in a dynamic team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams effectively
- Efficient and detail-oriented, with a strategic thinking mindset
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Tech-savvy with experience utilizing donor management systems
Special Requirements:
- This is a full time, in-office position offering a 3/2 hybrid work schedule where employees can opt to work from home 2 days per week and can be based out of the following geo locations: Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, or Grand Prairie, TX (relocation expenses not provided)
- Must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Other Travel: 10% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities
