Job Title: Director of Training and Development

You are responsible for:
Glowbar’s Training and Development department is multi-faceted with ownership of the creation and evolution of programs/materials that support all in-studio teams - Studio Manager, Studio Guides and Estheticians. They will manage a curriculum that is for new hires through tenured talent focusing on continued education in a variety of learning platforms for various learning styles. In addition, this key role will spearhead innovation in our facial treatments and product offerings (including the introduction of Glowbar’s own lines) and work cross functionally to ensure our talent is delivering a best in class experience to each client that experiences Glowbar.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the development, implementation and facilitation of cost-effective yet comprehensive curriculum and training materials to ensure all studio team members are trained consistently and thus providing the best 30-minute facial experience on the market
- Develop training programs and materials based on selling behavior and best-in-class service skills to support scaling business, functioning as a resource and leader for brand
- Oversee all innovations for modalities in esthetics within the treatment room and beyond, including the retail product assortment that Glowbar offers
- Facilitate an RFP process, launch, implement and manage a learning management system (LMS)
- Lead the development of new products by working with consultants and formulators to bring the best products Glowbar can offer to life
- Actively utilize data-based feedback to continually assess the effectiveness of new and existing programs, as well as content for product knowledge training materials; establish performance objectives, learning outcomes and assessment tools using instructional theories and design principles
- Spearhead and manage regionalized training and success by utilizing Lead Estheticians as local extensions of the corporate Education team
- Ensure that market-specific needs are met with both in-studio and virtual programs by working closely with the education team and Lead Estheticians
- Liaise closely with cross-functional departments to develop and reinforce KPIs, as well as continuously communicate opportunities and wins
- Manage and mentor a high-performing, lean training team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement and development.
- Manage the Skinstitute (on-site training facility) and fiscally manage the annual Training team’s budget
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of related experience; a minimum of 5 years in the beauty/wellness and/or retail industry required
- 5+ years of experience managing people and demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire innovation and efficiency
- Experience in curriculum development including but not limited to basic graph design and platform literacy
- Proven ability and command of adult learning concepts, experience building brand, technique and product training curriculum and the ability to create impactful, creative and memorable training experiences for various competency levels
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, resourceful and innovative
- Demonstrated ability to multitask; proven ability to work independently and with ambiguity
- Excellent project management skills, ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet competing deadlines; maintain creative and active problem solving to drive on-time and quality delivery for all projects and partner with various levels in the organization
- Strong digital literacy and data analysis
- Exceptional people-first mindset, both employee and clients
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel 25-50% of time

NYC Salary: $125,000 - $150,000
