As the Manager, Maintenance Operations you will lead the maintenance team and operations for all manufacturing and distribution center equipment. You are responsible for building a strong team of leaders and skilled trades employees while demonstrating a strong desire to coach and empower behaviors that are aligned with Arc’teryx culture and value. This role will partner closely with our manufacturing and distribution operations teams with a commitment to ensure equipment reliability and uptime in our manufacturing & distribution environments.
Meet Your Future Team:
ARC’One is our Manufacturing and Distribution facility, located in New Westminster. With multiple automation projects across the facility, you will work closely with both operations teams with a deeper partnership with engineering, facilities & contractors for successful new equipment implementation.
If you were our Manager, Maintenance Operations here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Lead and inspire the maintenance team to develop innovative and comprehensive strategies that enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement, ensuring a safe and efficient production environment.
- Oversee and refine end-to-end maintenance processes, including preventive maintenance, new equipment commissioning, and ad-hoc requests, to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborate and partner with operational leaders to prioritize maintenance tasks and improvement initiatives ensuring they are met within target SLA
- Develop detailed commissioning plans and schedules for new equipment installations. Coordinate with engineering, facilities and operations teams to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Oversee, build, and maintain vendor relationships including negotiating contracts for external maintenance service providers.
- Enforce and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including CSA, across all maintenance activities
- Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and coaching while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment that aligns with company values and improves engagement
- Design and implement systems to track KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing equipment performance and reliability
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, controlling costs while ensuring adequate resources for maintenance needs.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment necessary for maintenance activities.
- Implement training of production and DC operators for basic maintenance tasks daily that fall within their responsibilities
- You are a problem solver who can recognize bottlenecks within a process and influence cross-functional teams to work to breakdown organization silos to achieve our goals
- Take on other projects and responsibilities consistent with the position and as required with the changing needs of the organization in support of business development
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Manage maintenance service model beyond ARC’One inclusive of design center and in-store repair service centers (SLA)
- Audit our vendors base and Service Level Agreements with the goal to build the most productive partnerships
- Partner with engineering on the Factory of Future equipment model
- Be a pivotal leader in the evolution and expansion of our Global Distribution network
Are you our future Manager, Maintenance Operations?
- You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent professional level experience
- You have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, manufacturing and distribution experience is an asset (preferably a leadership role)
- You have strong interpersonal skills: you can deal with difficult situations with tact and professionalism, and you know how to create strong relationship with a customer service focused mentality
- You have proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional settings and can balance collaboration with autonomy
- You have proven people leadership, mentorship and project management skills
- Influencing and negotiating skills help you manage and select best vendors
- You can work well under minimal supervision as well as part of a team

- Time management will be your partner to perform project management: you are highly organized and detail-oriented
- OFA experience or willingness to become and OFA is an asset
