Paulsboro, NJ (Onsite) Position Details: The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Position Overview: The Senior Cost Accountant is an integral member of the accounting team. They will perform a variety of cost accounting assignments within the company's manufacturing operations, analytics, and reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, assisting other accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a complex manufacturing environment and will be responsible for the Standard Costing activities, BOMs and routing maintenance related to processing plants. Research and take corrective actions on cost related issues. Support inventory related questions and analysis. Prepare and present monthly reporting of various analyses as well as ad-hoc reports for management. Job Functions: - Support and participate in the month-end close, ensuring that all COGS transactions are recorded accurately and on time. Monthly JEVs, reconciliations of all General Ledger inventory accounts to the inventory subledger, analyzing and reviewing variances.
- Establish and maintain accurate cost accounting records for bills of material, product routings, material, labor, and overhead costs. Manage the annual cost roll-up for all sites. Plan, collect, and analyze data to drive the standard cost revaluation processes; implement cost updates periodically such as raw materials, labor, and overhead rates for inventory reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and ensure cost data integrity, analyzing manufacturing costs and compare standards with actual production costs.
- Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing costs and processes to identify cost savings and operational efficiencies opportunities.
- Support the implementation of a manufacturing system (MRP) and executes ad hoc projects.
- Ensure the site operates with clear visibility of its cost structures and strategies, support efforts to drive automation, simplicity, and reduce complexity and manual processes at the site while maintaining appropriate reporting and financial controls associated with the site assets.
- Assist in managing inventory related accounts including preparation and analysis of periodic reports, creation and refinement of policies and procedures to reduce inventory adjustments, minimize waste and improve reporting accuracy. Monitor cycle counts in conjunction with goals set for each plant.
- Assist in quarterly and year end reporting requirements as well as inventory reserve calculations.
- Fixed Assets: Support capital expenditure activities by maintaining, updating fixed asset module, determining what is capitalizable based on company's accounting policies and GAAP, along with useful life, asset type and depreciation method and comparing actual vs budgeted amounts.
- Assist in preparation of various analysis, financial schedules, and divisional reports.
- Transaction processing for certain business units, produce ad hoc reports and analyses. Contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications: - 6+ years of progressive cost accounting experience.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and data mining ability.
- Strong internal control mindset with ability to identify and remediate process inefficiencies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to clearly articulate complex information.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and be well organized; adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Exceptional computer skills; strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel.
- Solid work ethic with a high level of energy and integrity.
- Adaptable to change and willingness to learn and handle new or evolving assignments.
- Not afraid to ask questions and is persistent on follow-up.

Desired Skills: - Knowledgeable/experience working with an MRP or ERP system, specifically Microsoft D365 knowledge.
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, etc.
Education/Certifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
