The Database Administrator is part of the Systems Engineering team. The Database Administrator works with stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, to design and implement database servers and instances to support the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. The Database Administrator is also responsible for performance analysis, planning, monitoring, and forecasting needs to maintain and ensure stability of database servers and database instances.
The Systems Engineering Team's primary purpose is to ensure the resiliency, security and integrity of the organization's computing environment, protect patient and employee confidential information, and comply with regulatory requirements nationally. In partnership with Clinical, Financial, Knowledge Management and Ambulatory teams, the Systems Engineering Team drives architecture standards into delivered solutions. This position provides a hybrid work environment allowing the Database Administrator to work from a home environment and on site.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding, management and development of Microsoft SQL Database Servers, Database instances and clustered databases.
- Understanding of design, installation, upgrade, administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2/2016/2019/2022 Servers operating systems.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
- Minimum of five years' experience in Microsoft SQL database deployment and management in a large scale, multi-platform database environment.
- Minimum two years' experience with Azure SQL Databases preferred.
- Minimum five years' experience in design, installation, upgrade, administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2/2016/2019/2022 Servers operating systems.
- Minimum two years' experience with development of Windows operating systems batch, PowerShell and various script languages to assist in automating the administration process for all systems.
Certification/Licensure:
- Microsoft Certification required.
