PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The Family Ministries Site Leader holds the operational standards and is responsible for managing the staff and volunteer leads, overseeing and maintaining the vision and responsibilities for Family Ministries, specifically around the Sunday morning (Village Kids and Jr Youth) and midweek family experiences. They ensure that families who attend the Site not only experience the best possible programming on Sunday but also have opportunities to connect to the life of Village Church beyond the Sunday morning experience. The Site Leader should love working with kids, youth, and families but be able to equip and lead a team of staff and volunteers for the on-the-ground work of Family Ministries at Surrey.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership to the site’s Family Ministry experience by championing a culture that ensures an excellent and fun guest experience, intentional spaces of connection and engaged volunteer teams.
- Creatively and strategically drives a family event calendar that effectively connects with both the needs of Village church families and the families in surrounding neighborhoods.
- Is the primary driver to help ensure themselves, the staff team and volunteers are partnering with parents well. This can be through personal connections, social events, training opportunities etc.
- Works with the Lead Pastor and Associate Pastors to ensure individuals and families have access to the care, counseling and support they may need.
- Provides management and development to the Family Ministries team at Surrey and is accountable for evaluating the ministries, ensuring strategic accomplishment of the vision in partnership with the Lead Pastor and Family Ministries Director. By working to connect volunteers and staff to the vision through protocols, ministry initiatives and implementation of standards outlined in the Site Operations Guide.
- Is responsible for the management of the Family Ministries communication platforms and ensures Associates or volunteers are engaging well.
- Is responsible for ensuring that the Surrey Family Ministry database within Village Connect is correct and utilized well by staff and key volunteers.
- Oversees management of all Family Ministries asset equipment and supplies for Sundays and events.
- Supports Lead Pastor with kids/youth baptism and parent/child dedications.
- Collaborates with Family Ministries Director and Lead Pastor on yearly strategy (calendar and budget) and facilitates team involvement.
- Intentionally pursues relationships with unchurched people - is actively reaching out the community to adopt them into the life and community of Village Church: connecting with them and inviting them to events, midweek, and Sunday services.
- Each Sunday, an effort is made to connect with and get to know volunteers as they serve on Sundays. Support Village Kids staff with on-the-floor direction and oversee overall operations (Host desk, setup, tear down, First Look etc.).
- Helps provide leadership to the Family Ministry Hub by having a role in the preparation, execution and follow-up tasks surrounding Hub events like Summer Camp, Parent Labs, Summer Fun etc.
- Participates in Village-wide and regional events.
- Ensures that all responsibilities are completed in a purposeful, strategic and focused manner that points people to Jesus.
- Acts as a servant by inviting, discipling, training and equipping others to serve. Leads through example and commits to thanking at least one volunteer on a weekly basis.
- Ensures all responsibilities are produced, promoted and lead with a high level of innovation and excellence, honouring God at the highest level.
- Acts with a sense of ambitious urgency, ensuring all work is completed wisely and impactfully. Time is a gift from God.
- Maintains an openness to being a learner by committing to continuous self, spiritual and professional development.
- Contributes to #bestteam by participating in a joyful culture and working well with peers.
- Commits to thanking at least one volunteer on a weekly basis.
- Demonstrates behaviour consistent with the Standard of Conduct as outlined in the Village Staff Manual.
KEY RESULTS
Gospel
- The effectiveness of lives being transformed by the Gospel is increasing according to the recommended rate of growth as outlined in the Family Ministries Guide, and being tracked through Sunday and weekday group attendance, baptisms, and dedications.
- Volunteers serve joyfully and authentically out of the Good News that we are redeemed and have purpose in Jesus. Everything we do points back to this.
- Staff, families, and volunteers continue to grow and become Christ-like disciples and disciple-maker.
Community
- Volunteer teams are healthy in number and commitment; they are equipped, engaged, and appreciated.
- People are given the opportunity to use their gifts and talents in high capacity volunteer roles - entering into the work that Christ is doing through the local church.
- Family Ministry events and Sunday experiences are being executed with excellence.
Culture
- Culture is being considered in every aspect of the work, as this is the DNA piece. There is awareness of the audience, and an understanding of the brokenness of the world in real life - how to enter into it, and why we all need the gospel.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Philosophically aligned with Village Church's Mission, Focus and strategy.
- Fulfills character qualifications as highlighted in 1 Timothy and Titus.
- Fulfill the duties required of Village Church members as outlined in the ‘This is Village Church’ course.
- Pursues a deeper relationship with Christ and greater spiritual growth through prayer, the gospel, and community. Is a disciple.
- Has spiritual gifts and skill sets that include: shepherding, leadership, discernment, and administration.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of the Bible.

WORK WEEK
- 40 hours - Sunday, plus four weekdays
- Occasional evenings and weekends.
