The Sr. Director, Cloud Engineering will lead our teams in the US, LATAM, and India. In this role, you’ll drive operational technology and lead, inspire, and grow our team to the highest industry standards for delivering IaaS, CI/CD pipelines, security, and operational processes for our SaaS customers. This position provides a unique opportunity to make a major contribution to a fast-paced, rapidly growing technology company.
You would be working closely with CloudOps, DataOps, NOC, and Tech Support teams as well as peer departments such as Engineering, QA, Product Management, Customer Success teams with focus on automation service release, configuration and data management, proactive monitoring, KPIs, SLAs, reliability and performance tuning.
The Sr. Director will be an experienced and hands-on leader who’s passionate about operational excellence, process improvements, and building a highly efficient DevOps culture. This role will report directly to the SVP of Cloud and operate across the global leadership for Global Cloud and Technology Services.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and set strategic vision for the Cloud Engineering organization with advancing DevOps best practices.
- Drive the mechanisms across the organization for improving automation and systems architecture for our cloud services.
- Drive measurable improvements across Service Level Indicators (SLI), Service Level Objectives (SLO), and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Continuously improve, develop, and present metrics related to quality of services, cost efficiency, and performance.
- Drive operational excellence through better documentation, refined workflows, and KPI measurements.
- Continuously improve services delivery and deployment automation processes under CI/CD technology and agile development model.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with all technical, service, and product planning teams.
- Promote adoption of best practices and new technologies for our SaaS services and support.
- Improve the level of automation to reduce/eliminate human errors in the operational processes.
- Ensure Engineering teams have the proper tooling from SDLC, Product Launch, and for day-to-day Operational needs
- Contribute and drive improvements for our SOC/ISO compliance controls, policies, follow Change Management / Change Controls principals
- Manage and improve our DevOps practices to deliver high quality software/service releases under the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated QA testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of DevOps engineering experience
- Solid interpersonal skills with proven track record of influencing at all levels
- 12+ years of technology experience with 7+ years’ experience leading DevOps, Build & Release Engineering (BRE) in a SaaS production and development environments
- Experience with Python, Bash shell scripting and automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.
- 5+ years’ experience on the cloud platform development such as AWS/OCI/Azure
- Experience with Service Management concepts and processes such as Github, Incident, Change, Configuration and Release Management
- Must have knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Casandra, Hadoop.
- Software development experience and familiarity with Continuous Delivery & Trunk-Based Development concepts
- Required to have deep understanding of the ecosystem to includeK8s, Terraform, IAM, EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda, OpenSearch, or related tooling
- Hands on experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, AHM, Graylog, Grafana as well as Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferable to be able to demonstrate experience advancing cloud modernization best practices in areas such as Auto-Scaling, Serverless, and Zero-Downtime Deployments
- AWS Certifications are preferable and ability to demonstrate how you’ve used them to mentor team members
- Experience leading teams through an Agile transition and establishing best practices across multiple teams
- Preferable to have experience driving improvements with both Engineering tools and ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) platforms
- Experience building a FinOps discipline and driving budgeting, cost reporting and forecasting in a service owner culture
- Experience of working with Java platforms and applications including JBoss, Tomcat, JDK.

The base salary for this position will be within the range $183,800 - $275,600.
