Our client, in metro Atlanta, has an opening for a Tax Manager. This individual will work with Partners on the High Net Worth Individual (HNWI) / Personal Financial Services team. As a Tax Manager, you will lead, mentor, and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and consulting engagements. You will manage engagements and client communications while fostering a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of technical requirements, procedures, and principles.
- Show knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and monitor the preparation and review of complex individual, estate, gift, trust, and business tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations.
- Review and advise on technical research memoranda.
- Apply relevant tax laws to clients and circumstances.
- Identify areas of specialization and continuously refine skills, knowledge, and expertise.
- Develop effective working relationships with clients and firm associates.
- Collaborate with others to provide quality service to clients.
- Engage in and lead client meetings.
- Promote additional services to clients when appropriate.
- Develop intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities.
- Communicate professionally with the IRS and other state authorities.
- Contribute to and support new ideas on internal processes and client engagements.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, providing proper instructions, monitoring, and coaching.
- Conduct training for associates.
- Manage projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion, and managing budgets.
- Provide effective feedback to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts.
- Maintain open communication with the team regarding project progress.
- Participate actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and facilitator.
- Manage all aspects of billing, including client inquiries.
- Develop appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements.
- Consistently represent the firm’s goals both internally and externally.
- Network to promote the firm and for personal development purposes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification required.
- Over 5 years of tax experience, preferably with High Net Worth Individuals.
- Advanced knowledge of Federal and Georgia income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Strong project management and delegation skills.
