Originates, processes, identifies needs, and communicates with customers regarding all mortgage products and program requirements, and refers other lines of business as needed. Also involved in community initiatives as needed to support the development of relationships in the communities the Bank serves.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* :
  • Provides professional, courteous, and efficient service to all internal and external customers as established by continuous and communicated expectations.
  • Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of all mortgage products and program requirements and utilizing this knowledge to build/develop customer relationships through identifying their needs and determining which products/services meet these needs. Interviews customers, collects appropriate documentation and processes documentation, identifies appropriate product/service to meet needs, communicates during the process with other employees as needed and the customers, and notifies the customer of loan status.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Bank's deposit and mortgage loan products and services and aligns company products and services to further build/develop customer relationships through identifying their needs and determining which products/services meet these needs through referrals- including complex mortgage requests.
  • Participates in sales activities, challenges, and tracks results. Is accountable for achieving sales goals.
  • Participates in building a sales and service culture, improving efficiencies, and making recommendations towards becoming the preeminent financial services provider to residential, small business, and non-profit and community based organizations in our markets.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of and ensures compliance with Federal and State banking regulations, and adheres to all Bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and ensures adherence to safety and security issues/policies/procedures.
  • Represents the Bank in the communities served per expectations established.
  • Maintains privacy and integrity of customer information.
  • Responsible for developing business for the bank through perpetual successful sales calls and seeking new/existing opportunities in the market.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Keeps informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.
  • Assists the processing department in gathering documentation of missing information from the customer.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve success.
  • Develops new business for the organization by representing the Bank in the community through memberships in community groups and business sales calls.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with business development and/or sales preferred.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED :
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related program and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related position in a financial institution or other similar organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with business development and/or sales preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
  • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable.
  • Minimal physical effort required. Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis.
  • Handling of light materials or supplies.
