The team goal is to enable ordinary consumers to create masterpieces. This Team will play a leading role in researching new audio and video technology and delivering specific solutions for next generation products including mobile devices, cloud services, IOT, etc. You will contribute to these activities being inserted into an international and experienced team of researchers.</p><p></p><p>Now, we are looking for an: </p><p></p><p><strong>Intern for Image/Video Coding (m/f/d)</strong></p><p>This is a fixed-term internship position for 6 months.</p><p><strong>R</strong><strong>esponsibilities (one or more of the following):</strong><br></p><ul><li>Collect new test sequences using Intel RealSense Depth Camera</li><li>Assess the quality of recorded depth maps</li><li>Modify the video coding test model to also compress and use depth maps</li><li>Evaluate existing open-source software for estimating depth maps for arbitrary videos</li><li>Contribute to papers, patents, or technical reports</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong><br></p><ul><li>You are enrolled as a Master's student in majors including, but not limited to, electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics, or physics</li><li>Good software skills: experience with Python or other scripting languages (e.g., bash, perl, ruby), C/C++</li><li>Strong interest in topics related to image or video coding, video processing, and artificial intelligence</li><li>Enjoy working in a team and collaborating with researchers to develop creative solutions</li><li>Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is a plus</li><li>Experience in conventional video codecs (e.g., HEVC, VVC) is a plus</li><li>Familiarity with development tools such as Git, Visual Studio Code, FFmpeg, etc. is a plus</li><li>Must be eligible to work in the European Union to be considered for this position</li></ul><p>If you are enthusiastic to shape the Munich Research Center in Munich together with us, being part of a multicultural team and growing environment, feel free to contact us.
