Our client, an insurance company, is seeking a Corporate Pension Benefits Counsel.

Overview:• Client has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive attorney to join our Legal team.
• The role exists to help the Legal Department assist the company's growth from our pension risk transfer business, with a focus on providing legal support throughout the entire transaction life cycle.
• The ideal candidate will be a high performing business savvy attorney with exceptional drafting skills and significant experience working with pension plans and/or on sophisticated corporate transactions, including pension risk transfers, mergers & acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Job Description:• Work closely with the Pension Group Annuity business team providing timely and efficient legal services in the drafting and review of transaction documents in connection with new pension risk transfer business.
• Take the lead in devising negotiation strategies and drafting contracts and services agreements related to transactions.
• Provide legal advice to business units regarding compliance with laws and regulations that impact the business.
• Advise annuity form filings teams on responding to regulatory inquiries and forms objections.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with company representatives who are involved in the business.
• Consistently anticipate and propose mitigation strategies for the management of potential contractual, compliance and financial risks.
Qualifications And Experience:• Bachelor's degree or law degree from an accredited law school or proven background in corporate law and/or employee benefits law.
• 7+ years of experience in a large law firm.
• Possess a solid understanding of complex structural and corporate issues pertaining to sophisticated corporate transactions and/or pension plans.
• Skilled at drafting complex contract provisions.
• Experience providing legal advice relating to pensions, annuities and other insurance products, including the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA, is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight timelines, while managing a diverse workload.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Some travel may be required.
Salary Rate: 250000
