Job Description: Job Description
1. Processing of films samples Prepare laminated film samples for processing Image film and record qualitative results for Technical Requestor. Discuss as needed. Characterize imaged film using microscopy for defect analysis as requested. Characterize imaged film using spectral analysis as requested.
2. Support film run Collect, label and prepare film samples for further analysis Handle run materials Perform orientation characterization, create stretched film prototypes, laser process films, perform peel testing, perform spectral measurements, and perform other mechanical measurements as needed.
3. Perform peel testing Prepare samples including timed temperature aging as specified Measure peel and re-adhesion as specified using *** equipment Record data in specified spreadsheet
4. Perform spectral measurements Prepare samples Measure using Perkin-Elmer Lambda-TM devices of various models Measure according to specification of mode (e.g. transmission, reflection, etc.), and spectral wavelength band using standard settings or as otherwise specified. Prepare spectral plots using Excel-TM
5. Manage lifetime measurements Create film samples by lamination to glass or other films or other substrates as needed Create custom holders for laminated films or freestanding films as needed Record film sample ID and description of film construction Submit samples for accelerated weathering using WRC test request database Pick up samples after specified time for accelerated weathering Conduct optical analysis with Lambda spectrophotometer or Hunter LAB Colorimeter Record optical results (ie; transmission, reflection) Calculate Absorbance Plot Transmission, Reflectance, and Absorbance versus time (e.g. using Excel-TM) 6. Measure abrasion resistance
