We are seeking an individual responsible for supporting approximately 370 businesses and more than 1280 technicians in the York County. Businesses and technicians would rely on the successful candidate to conduct all vehicle inspections and to respond to any issues that might arise. To ensure the security of our most priceless cargo, our children, this person will also annually inspect more than 350 school buses. Additional duties of this position include looking into client complaints and overseeing the Inspection Program's legal compliance. Statewide travel may be required.

Minimum qualifications:
Four (4) years of mechanic education, training, and experience related to the repair and maintenance of a variety of motor vehicle types (e.g. passenger, large vehicles, busses), Experience must include at least two (2) of experience conducting inspections as a licensed mechanic applying federal and state laws, rules, and regulations governing compliance with motor vehicle inspections ‐OR‐ 4 years of regulatory experience in the automotive and/or law enforcement industries which included the enforcement of traffic laws and motor vehicle defects/inspections rules.
Licensing Requirements within 6 months of hire:
Obtain and maintain Maine Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection credentials for all vehicle types.
