PA, Private Investments Analyst

Role Overview: 

The Analyst will join a team of junior investment professionals supporting the private equity GP-led secondary activities at Portfolio Advisors in Dallas, TX.  The Private Equity Secondaries business makes investments in GP-led (acquisition of assets from PE funds) and LP (acquisition of fund stakes from other institutional investors) secondary transactions and across private equity strategies globally. Portfolio Advisors is a leading secondary market investor and participates as a lead or syndicate member in transactions. Analysts will predominantly support GP-led deal sourcing, due diligence and transaction execution.

Analyst Role: The Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the deal process including diligence, execution and post-closing investment monitoring.  The Analyst will be an integral part of the investment team and will be responsible for many important aspects of a transaction including financial analysis and due diligence processes. As such, the program will start with candidates completing a rigorous multi-week training program during which they will learn from senior investment professionals from across PA. It will also include a “bootcamp” for financial statement analysis, modeling and excel skills. The Analyst role is structured as a 2-year program. Exceptionally high performing Analysts may be offered an opportunity to complete a 3rd year with their respective team.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing investment opportunities including conducting business, industry and financial due diligence
• Preparing complex financial models
• Drafting and presenting investment committee memoranda
• Monitoring investment performance
• Preparing limited partner presentations, sponsor marketing and fundraising materials

Qualifications:

• 0-1 years of experience: investment banking, private equity/credit, transaction advisory, or equity/credit research internship experience is desirable
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and graduating in December 2024 or Spring 2025
• Minimum GPA of 3.3
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• History of outstanding performance and high level of motivation
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and PowerPoint skills should be strong)
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
