Job Summary: The dispatcher will act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will receive requests, transmit messages, and track vehicles. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and be able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. You must be able to multitask as well as complete other operational support functions as assigned by the Dispatch Manager. The goal of the dispatcher is to enable different parties to communicate by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information. This is an in-person position where you will report to the office during your scheduled shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Receives emergency and non-emergency calls
● Takes down location and personal information of the caller
● Dispatches available units to the proper location
● Maintains logs of all calls and dispatched units
● Enters call information and records into the database
● Prioritizes simultaneous emergency scenarios
● Stays up to date on location and activity of units in the area
● Monitors activity of vehicles and on-duty personnel during shift
● Arrives for duty appropriately groomed and in the proper work dress/uniform
● Maintains punctual and regular attendance
● Completes all required/assigned Company training
● Perform other duties as assigned

● Possesses knowledge of the function and types of police radio frequencies

Education and Experience
● High school diploma or GED required
● 1 year of Dispatching experience is preferred
● Job-specific training required
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Must have a high school diploma or GED
● Must have a clean background and ability to pass a drug screen
Work Environment
● Working hours will be spent in the dispatch office, receiving and directing calls
● The majority of time will be spent sitting at a computer and/or radio dispatch unit
● Environment can be highly stressful and fast-paced
● Shifts vary from day to night
