We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of all inventory within our warehouse setting. You play a critical role in ensuring that custom manufactured parts are handled, stored, and shipped in a safe and efficient manner, while also maintaining accurate inventory records. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with various teams and departments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shipping clerks, ensuring that they adhere to established safety procedures and guidelines.
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and organizing of inventory, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient workflow and space utilization.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for material handling and inventory management.
- Ensure custom manufactured parts are being packaged following internal procedures and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure that all packaging materials are ordered and delivered on time, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy, and reconcile any discrepancies or variances.
- Train and mentor shipping staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are properly trained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Logistics, Quality Control, Operations and Case Management to ensure a smooth flow and timely delivery to meet production schedules.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline shipping and receiving operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipping and receiving activities, including receiving reports, inventory counts, and movement records.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, material handling or inventory management, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Certification in powered equipment operation, such as a forklift certification, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, related to shipping, receiving and storage.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory management and data analysis, such as ERP, Microsoft suite, and Solidworks.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and operate powered equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules or demands.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
