Geoligist - (TS/SCI) - Reston, VA

DISHER is partnered with a military consulting company to add an experienced Geoligist. You will be supporting O&M work at the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA’s) Defense Counter Proliferation (DCP-1) and Underground Facility Analysis Center (UFAC). DTRA/CXA contractor engineering supports DIA's characterization process with technical subject matter experts (SMEs). DTRA provides, via this contract, engineers, and scientists to support this mission.

What You'll Get to Do:

Conduct in-depth analyses of rock and soil mechanics, supporting projects that require a solid understanding of geological formations and their applications.
Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects where geological expertise informs and enhances our R&D objectives.
Engage in practical fieldwork and laboratory analysis, using data to support the team’s ongoing projects in national and environmental research.
Work closely with diverse technical teams, contributing geological insights that help solve real-world challenges.

What Will Make You Successful:

Technical Background: A strong foundation in rock and soil mechanics, with hands-on experience in geological, geophysical, or geotechnical analysis.
Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree in geology or a related field is preferred. We’re looking for early to mid-career professionals eager to grow rather than Ph.D. candidates with extensive experience.
Analytical Skills & Practical Experience: Demonstrated ability to analyze geological data, conduct field or lab-based assessments, and apply findings to larger project goals.
Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team, with a proactive approach to sharing geological insights that enhance our collective work.
