Tile Specialist/Designer

Salary: $50,000 up to +$30,000 in commission
Monday - Friday; 8am - 4:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Offer superior customer service and cultivate relationships with clients, remodelers, designers, builders, and architects to sell and develop future business utilizing effective selling skills • Utilize strong interpersonal skills, selling skills, active listening, professional attitude, and represent the company with integrity and professionalism
• Provide customers with design layout with accurate square footage
• Maintain customer and contractor contact from design to delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
• Build and maintain a high level of product knowledge
• Describe product and explain use, operation, and care of product to customers
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain product based on customer needs and desires
• Compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash or credit payment
• Answer questions regarding the store and its product
• Prepare sales slips or sales contracts
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
• Maintain records related to sales
• Demonstrate use or operation of product when applicable
• Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations
• Exchange product for customers and accept returns according to company policy
• Assist in overall upkeep and aesthetic appeal of the showroom by participating in the selection of products and contributing to the design of the showroom vignettes and displays a necessary
• Maintain an organized and professional workstation
• Attend all mandatory team meetings and company meetings with a commitment to participating and contributing to the meeting as a committed team player
• Ensure all actions are in alignment with the company's vision • Knowledge and understanding of design trends
• Use all resources available to research and problem solve
• Maintain and organize tile displays throughout the showroom • Coordinate display orders for SPLASH showrooms (with approval of Showroom Manager)
• Keep the sales team updated on tile vendors and anything related to the tile department
• Consider new tile vendors and dropping current vendors (with approval of Showroom Manager)
• Train sales team on tile related items and coordinate trainings with tile vendors
• Maintain relationships with tile vendors
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of professionalism
• Detailed oriented and organizational skills
• High degree of customer and personal service
• Strong mathematical skills
• Sales and marketing experience preferred
• Design experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills Key Performance Indicators
• Conduct business according to mission statement and core values
• Provide superior and professional customer service under any circumstance
• Promote a sales culture by service orientation and building relationships
• Build and maintain product knowledge Working conditions (if applicable) Able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
