Position Overview:
- This position is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting the implementation and eventual support of the Epic hospital billing module installation.
- Responsibilities include serving as the senior point of contact with clinical areas that are the primary users of the information system; leading standard implementation approaches; conducting or leading analysis on workflows and system tailoring needs; assessing hardware upgrade needs; and overall coordination of team activities.
- The Senior Resolute Hospital Billing Analyst provides deep application understanding and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude in defining and supporting appropriate technology uses for clinical areas.
- Works closely with a variety of other program teams to conduct high-quality, high-service planning, implementation and support of information systems for department end users.
- This position applies high-level project management ideology/methodology to develop, manage, and execute project plans and is expected to have a high level of technical and functional competency on the assigned information systems, as well as a thorough understanding of hospital operations in assigned area.
- The Senior Epic Hospital Billing Analyst works with leadership to establish priorities for the Epic billing module, assisting systems analysts in implementing Epic Resolute updates and establishing Epic Resolute best practices and procedures.
- Reviews release notes from Epic for optimization opportunities to improve hospital and professional billing functionality and processes.
- Serves as the "go-to analyst for review and resolution of complex build issues within the application team along with being the point person in completing workflow analysis with our operational partners.
- This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely technology support and problem resolution to internal and external customers.
- Resolves complex and everyday service requests relating to software problems and malfunctions; interacting and consulting with users to manage user satisfaction; providing guidance, assistance, and follow-up on user inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a health, science, or business field, or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience, especially with process improvement / business applications in broader and complex areas.
- 6 years of information services experience in a healthcare environment with IT systems and systems development projects, 5 years as a systems analyst, applications specialist or equivalent.
- 3+ year's hands-on experience with Epic Resolute Billing in a real-time environment with Claims as they relate to the Resolute Module.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of HB Rule, HB Work Queues, HB Billing Indicators, Statement Process, Letters - Insurance/Self Pay follow up and Payment/Adjustment posting.
- A high level of professionalism is required in order for this individual to coordinate and interact with the patient business services staff utilizing the Epic Resolute applications on a daily basis. Must have Resolute Hospital build experience.
- Epic Resolute Professional Billing certification may be required.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the business content or clinical content of hospitals systems deemed a part of "core " HIS.
- Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design.
- Must be able to apply creative methods to analyze and enhance workflow efficiencies.
- Must demonstrate ability to lead projects from inception to completion with little management supervision and to assist other team members in learning these skills.
- Project management skills including the ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, and manage project plans.
- Demonstrate broad based experience with generally known project management software.

- The ability to create testing scenarios based on current state workflow processes; troubleshoot issues and report findings to leadership as appropriate.

- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis, workflow analysis, build, design, testing, interface knowledge and programming activities.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the inpatient/outpatient revenue cycle environment and hospital operations, procedures/functions and the relationships between them.
- Exhibits solid knowledge of the revenue cycle workflows and the integration with clinical processes and practices including inpatient billing and professional billing and claims.
- Demonstrates the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with the project team, and key stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinician.
- Works closely and collaboratively with other project team members and organizational leaders.
- Displays a solid understanding of computer systems, interfaces, software, and IT functions.
- Must possess the ability to understand the integration of applications and their impact on business process and operations.

Responsibilities:
- Leads, coordinates, and supports implementation of the Epic Resolute l Billing module.
- Serves the senior point of contact with clinical/business areas who are the primary users of the information system. Works with physicians, clinicians, stakeholders, and IT personnel to assess and develop best practice models.
- Directs the efforts of analysts in the design, coding, testing, implementing, and documentation required for the Epic Resolute application.

- Participates in and sometimes facilitates building, planning and problem solving discussions with project teams, patient access representatives, and leadership.
- Provides regular project status reports on project(s) progress to customer and internal management.
- Monitors compliance with definitions of project scope, timelines, and deliverables. When project managing a project, ensures that the project and documentation follows standard project management protocol.
- Leads standard implementation approaches, conducts analysis on workflows and system tailoring needs, assessing hardware upgrade needs, and overall coordination of team activities.
- Prepares detailed specifications, technical and user documentation from which reports, downloads, and extracts will be written.
- Compiles complete, concise, and comprehensive policies and operation procedures to assist in communicating issues to applicable management staff.
- Works with Epic counterparts including Epic Systems support, Epic EMR teams, and IS leadership to implement, maintain, and support the reporting initiative. Interact effectively with department stakeholders, project team members and vendors.
- Coordinates testing of new applications and changes to existing applications to ensure integrity and quality of data.
- Collaborates to seek resolution of system design conflicts and communicates risk implications to team lead/project manager.
- Prepares customized reports for both internal use and as required for external agencies
- Performs related programming for reporting using tools such as XML and HTML, Crystal Reports, and other database reporting tools.
- Provides expert knowledge of SQL tables as they relate to the hospital applications.
- Provides reporting analysis, programming and problem resolution to facilitate reporting process improvement.
- Helps end-user departments in the conceptualizing, design, and implementation of new applications, systems, major enhancements, and required maintenance.
- Meets independently and proactively with department heads and/or super-users on a routine basis to identify and prioritize their needs.
- Documenting and maintaining the needs indicating responsible parties and due dates.
- Provides deep application understanding in defining and supporting appropriate technology and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude.
- Handles rapidly evolving system requirements and demands
- Responds to queries within designated times according to priority to insure that break/fix issues are addressed and documented. Assists analysts as needed to be sure that calls are answered and followed up on efficiently.
- Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts.
- On-call support on a rotating schedule.
