Job Description:
Must haves:
- 5+ years experience in the creation of technical project and user documentation, including procedures at the specified experience level with electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems
- Technical background to efficiently capture and understand input from technical subject matter experts within a large integration project to enable creation of detailed documentation to support the Health DataSphere conceptual design and implementation roadmap for Health Data Utility
- Experience with a wide range of technical writing methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Experience working in the public sector, preferably in a health care setting
- Experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts (e.g. project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning and quality management)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, collaborative and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Time Management, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple project deliverables
- Documentation experience that includes copyediting, style, content, consistency, etc.
- Assess, define, implement, and monitor documentation management practices as required and appropriate for the project, in conjunction with applicable Ontario Government standards, including template design and maintenance; version and change control; naming conventions; and official repository(ies)
- Skilled at using standard technical writing tools such as Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Technical Communication Suite
Deliverables include:- Define and document use cases applicable to the Health DataSphere Health Data Utility
- Develop a comprehensive creation of technical project and user documentation pertaining to conceptual architecture design and implementation roadmap for the Health Data Utility that captures:
- The clinical data flows essential to the front-line delivery of patient centered integrated care to the people of Ontario
- the access and use of health data for population and public health program as well as health system management
- Health System Planning and Research
- Patient control of access to their clinical data (patient-oriented architecture)
- The logical design for a working implementation with foundational technologies in alignment with select aspects of the conceptual architecture
- Collaborate with existing OH architecture teams and portfolios to build on existing architecture related to the data utility concepts.
Responsibilities:- Creates professional technical project and user documentation, including systems and operational procedures
- Organize content into web-based format for internal / external audiences.
- Research on leading practices for user friendly web -based content building
- Producing high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Working with internal teams on product and documentation requirements
- Writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides.
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

- Create and maintain the information architecture.
Desired Skills:- Knowledge and experience with tools for the creation, distribution, and maintenance of project and user documentation in particular Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and screen capture/graphic manipulation software
- Strong interviewing and listening skills to capture necessary information
- Experience and ability to create a glossary or list of terms and definitions
- Ability to create feedback forms/tools to gather information from architects and other stakeholders as required
- Experienced in creating content and graphics that effectively communicate conceptual, procedural, and reference information for end-user administration, installation and configuration guides and online help
Required Skills:- Knowledge and experience with at least one platform
- Knowledge and experience with communications protocols
- Experience with Ontario Government standards for documentation
- Knowledge and experience with tools for the creation, distribution and maintenance of project and user documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation skills; and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with cross functional teams (development, business) and a wide range of audiences
- Experience with office automation suites, presentation tools, and at least one authoring package
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in publishing documentation on portals and/or websites, and in using collaboration tools.
