The team

APAC ID&F Technology Group

The APAC ID&F Technology Group is responsible for supporting and developing GBG’s regional Identity Verification product suites (greenID, GBG Trust: Alert & CloudCheck) and for GBG’s Application and Transaction Monitoring Fraud products & platforms (NextGen, Instinct & Predator).

The Role

The Senior Engineering Manager, APAC ID is responsible for ongoing support and development of the GBG identity verification platforms in the APAC region (greenID, GBG Trust: Alert & CloudCheck).  Ultimately the incumbent will be responsible for 20 engineers, 3 product owners, 1 architect, and 2 operations personnel.

What you will do

  • Engineering leader for APAC’s identity verification businesses (greenID, GBG Trust: Alert & Cloudcheck)
  • Lead application operations, support, and maintenance activities for greenID and CloudCheck – both systems ‘always on’ & cloud-based
  • Lead new development activities for greenID, GBG Trust: Alert & CloudCheck
  • People leadership for the team consisting of a technical architect, software engineers/leads, QA engineers, platform engineers/leads, and business analysts/product owners
  • Provide vision, own architecture, and technical processes aligning with the Agile/Scrum framework
  • One of three members of the APAC Technology Senior Leadership team
  • Member of APAC Technology’s Extended Leadership team
  • Member of APAC’s Extended Leadership team (1ALT)
  • Member of GBG’s senior global technology ID&F community
  • Key technical consultant for ID product roadmaps and plans for the region
  • Champion for continuous improvement activities
  • Leader for InfoSec, compliance & privacy activities
  • Occasional customer contact on an as needs basis


  • An experienced technology leader with exposure of identity verification software as a service system(s) or similar
  • We are looking for someone with experience and demonstrable ability of:
    • Strategic Guidance: Leading multiple teams through multi-year horizons and navigating organisational/technical ambiguities.
    • Collaborative Influence: Building partnerships beyond direct authority and driving cross-functional initiatives.
    • Strategic Alignment: Setting strategies considering organisational, business, and customer needs​

    • Results & Direction: Overseeing major initiatives, identifying opportunities, and ensuring alignment with long-term growth and team well-being

    • Informed Decision Making: Basing decisions on detailed insights, ensuring alignment with broader objectives
    • Operational Excellence: Defining goals, metrics, and maintaining effective processes while building stakeholder relationships
    • Stability & Innovation: Offering guidance in uncertainty, championing innovation, and setting bold, aligned team goals
    • Talent Development & Design: Prioritising personal and team growth, senior hiring, and structure teams for long-term health
    • Organisational Structure: Focusing on future needs and long-term success while structuring teams strategically.
    • Culture & Collaboration: Enhancing collaboration, addressing cultural issues, and championing GBG's diversity values
    • Effective Communication: Ensuring clarity, understanding, and alignment in team communications
    • Technical & Business Alignment: Staying updated on GBG’s products, customers, competitors and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with broader technical strategies
    • Craft & Quality: Reviewing system health and ensuring engineering quality & alignment with overarching technical goals
    • Fin Ops: FinOps-minded engineering excelling in empowering teams with the knowledge required in optimising cloud costs and resources, blending engineering prowess with financial acumen to drive efficient and cost-effective technological solutions
