FLIGHT DATA PROCESSORS
JOB SUMMARY
The Flight Data Processor (FDP) is an entry level in a progressive career path towards becoming an Air Traffic Controller in Jamaica.
The FDP’s primary duty is to assist the Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) in fulfilling the primary objectives of air traffic services and act as a point of contact for flight information. He/she is required to coordinate pertinent information on air traffic to adjacent Flight Information Regions (FIRs) and Air Traffic Service Units (ATSU) in accordance with specified Letters of Agreements (LOAs). Prepare flight progress strips, update and manage flight plans (FPL) using the flight data display system (FDD). Additionally, he/she is required to manage, correct and forward air traffic information using the ATS Message Handling System (AMHS) or any other appropriate communication channel.

SELECTION AND TRAINING CRITERIA
Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a series of technical diagnostic testing and successfully complete a thorough pre-employment screening process to include an Aviation Medical Examination.
Selected candidates will be offered temporary employment for one (1) year as Trainee Flight Data Processor to pursue full-time classroom training:
Civil Aviation Authority Training Institute
Kingston Air Traffic Control Centre
On successful completion of training the selected candidates will be employed on contract for two (2) years and assigned to the Kingston Air Traffic Control Centre at the JCAA’s Head Office.
