Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the business development strategy to drive growth and market expansion.
    • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
    • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
  2. Market and Competitor Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
    • Analyze competitor activities and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Monitor industry developments and provide insights to senior management.
  3. Identify, Develop, and Manage Partnerships:
    • Develop and implement partnership strategies.
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing partners.
    • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements.
    • Ensure mutual benefits and alignment with business objectives.
    • Ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership initiatives.
  4. Relationship Management:
    • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders.
    • Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements.
    • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
  5. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee training and professional development programs for team members.
  6. Revenue Growth and Sales Management:
    • Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing accounts.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of sales strategies and processes.
    • Track and report on sales performance and business development activities.
  7. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies and partnerships.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  8. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize CRM systems to manage sales pipeline and track progress.
    • Prepare regular reports on business development activities and outcomes.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on partnership activities.
    • Use data and insights to make informed business decisions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge in the following areas is preferred: B2G partnership, enterprise sales, trade & investment promotion, sustainability, climate change & impact, food security, public policy, international development, thought leadership and government relations.
  • Minimum of 5 to 12 years of experience in the relevant field. 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and strategic initiatives to a global audience.
  • Multilinguistic (i.e. Spanish, French, etc.) skillet is a plus.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
