Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the business development strategy to drive growth and market expansion.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
- Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
- Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Analyze competitor activities and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Monitor industry developments and provide insights to senior management.
- Identify, Develop, and Manage Partnerships:
- Develop and implement partnership strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing partners.
- Negotiate and manage partnership agreements.
- Ensure mutual benefits and alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership initiatives.
- Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders.
- Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements.
- Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team.
- Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee training and professional development programs for team members.
- Revenue Growth and Sales Management:
- Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing accounts.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of sales strategies and processes.
- Track and report on sales performance and business development activities.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies and partnerships.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize CRM systems to manage sales pipeline and track progress.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities and outcomes.
- Provide regular updates and reports on partnership activities.
- Use data and insights to make informed business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience and knowledge in the following areas is preferred: B2G partnership, enterprise sales, trade & investment promotion, sustainability, climate change & impact, food security, public policy, international development, thought leadership and government relations.
- Minimum of 5 to 12 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and strategic initiatives to a global audience.
- Multilinguistic (i.e. Spanish, French, etc.) skillet is a plus.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
