This position is a full time days shift position, will includes some weekends.
This position works under the general supervision of Laboratory Manager, performs all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies. Participates in Process Improvement and Laboratory Quality Control practices. Communicates with physicians and interdisciplinary clinical co-workers. Maintains regulatory agency requirements and follows laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, and standards as pertinent to scope of practice and hospital role. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Formal Training: Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in medical technology or related science
Licensure/Certification:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing customers and co-workers. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have general knowledge of laboratory equipment, phlebotomy, basic computer knowledge, and current hospital emergency policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills are necessary.
