Job Summary
Assist in providing day-to-day container tracking visibility. As well as ensure shipments get delivered smoothly and timely. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, an excellent communicator, and is able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. This person must be detail-oriented, familiar with transportation industry and committed to producing quality work, confident meeting tight deadlines, and graceful under pressure.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for updating and distributing daily/weekly reports such as the In-transit report, DI-DDP Risk report and Transit Time Dashboard to provide container tracking visibility to all stakeholders.
- Track and trace inbound ocean containers from when the container ships at origin to empty return and update the Master Inbound Tracking report with milestone changes and reasons for the changes.
- Communicate with carriers to expedite, divert or transload shipments and approve associated costs.
- Communicate with origin office to ensure customs documents are being sent to Midea’s US customs clearance broker timely.
- Assist drayage carriers with resolving any delivery issues.
- Follow-up with drayage carriers to provide delivery status in Midea’s TMS.
- Monitor shipments to ensure carriers are picking up and returning empty containers timely to avoid demurrage and per diem.
- Communicate with order management, warehousing, PSI and sales teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of containers to the final destinations.
- Communicate with MAC 3rd party warehouses regarding deliveries, unloading and empty pickups.
- Participate in weekly inbound/warehouse team meetings to proactively prepare for significant changes in inbound volume.
- Enforce KPIs to ensure carriers are picking up and returning empty containers timely.
- Analyze and implement inbound process improvements
- File damage claims with our insurance provider and follow through until payment is received.
- Assist logistics finance team in disputing charges with the carriers and provide supporting documentation as requested.
- Adhoc projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills
- Problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Organized, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Able to make quick decisions to resolve issues and minimize accessorial charges.
- 1-3 years of Import Logistics and Supply Chain experience
