<p>As part of our continued growth, OCU Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our existing team in South Wales.</p><p>In this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of the company's Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality systems. This role ensures compliance with legal requirements and industry standards, promotes a positive safety culture, and contributes to continuous improvement in SHEQ performance.</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Organising:</strong></p><ul><li>SHEQ guidance / assistance to the Operational Management Teams.</li><li>SHE Support for business bid teams – simple PQQs and tactical responses.</li><li>Active role within the set up and mobilisation of regional new contracts, installations and acquisitions.</li><li>Assisting in the development of locally required risk assessments, method statements and SHE plans including CDM Construction Phase Plans.</li><li>Support role in the development and implementation of SHE Management Systems for the broader business.</li></ul><p><strong>Planning and Implementing:</strong></p><ul><li>Be visible and known to the business operations supported.</li><li>Conducting suitable and effective SHEQ Compliance monitoring activities (audit / engagements) in Business / Region and tracking the completion of all corrective action.</li><li>Support role SHEQ Compliance monitoring activities for the broader business.</li><li>Monitoring and tracking SHEQ compliance information (lead and lagging indicators) in business / region for trends etc. highlighting concerns and providing key support in the development and implementation of improvement actions, initiatives and plans.</li><li>Provide feedback to the Subcontractor and Supplier SHEQ compliance database.</li><li>Undertake company inductions for new operatives and staff members.</li><li>Active role in the development and publication of SHE communications.</li><li>Involvement in worker consultation through attendance at Project reviews, worker groups and SHEQ engagements.</li></ul><p><strong>Audit and Review:</strong></p><ul><li>Report on activities, local performance and improvement actions, initiatives and plans regularly.</li><li>Support role with the external accreditation and client audits.</li><li>Support role at regional and depot level review meetings.</li><li>Providing support for accident / incident investigations in relation to regional incidents. </li><li>Tracking accident / incident reports to ensure that all corrective actions and recommendations are appropriate and are fully implemented.</li><li>Taking a lead / impartial role in investigating serious / significant accidents and incidents.</li><li>Liaising with management in relation to the notification of accidents / incidents and dangerous occurrences.</li></ul><p><strong>Decision making authority:</strong></p><ul><li>Empowered to stop or halt operations deemed to pose risk of significant health, safety or environmental breaches and impose sanction or improvement action accordingly.</li><li>Works in support of Regional Management teams to achieve good SHE performance standards.</li><li>Recommends solutions in respect of significant SHEQ audit non-conformance or adverse accident investigation findings.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Experience: </strong></p><p><strong>Business Knowledge:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge and application of SHEQ management principles and best practice within an energy service / construction / manufacturing operational arena.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Functional / Technical Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent as a minimum.
