Bumble is looking for an efficient legal counsel to join our global in-house legal team for a contract of 6 months. In this role, you will work across the team to support marketing, product and general commercial needs across the globe and will handle contract drafting, review and negotiation on a wide variety of agreements.
The role will be based in New York or Austin, Texas and will report directly into the Chief Legal Officer.
What you'll be doing
- Draft/review/revise a wide variety of commercial, product and marketing contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, digital advertising insertion orders, custom content agreements, sponsorship and event related agreements, influencer agreements, MSAs and more
- Collaborate cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams, including product, marketing, brand, finance, editorial, content and P+C
- Proactively identify legal risks while providing pragmatic advice which balances managing legal requirements with achieving business goals
- Review and ensure compliance of sweepstakes, contests and cause marketing
- Stay up-to-date and keep stakeholders advised on laws, regulations and trends relevant to technology, advertising and marketing, and consumer protection
- Conduct legal research on a variety of issues as needed
About you
- 1-3 years’ experience, preferably with experience both at a law firm and as part of an in-house legal department
- You are licensed to practice law in the USExperience with commercial law, including marketing, digital advertising, and social media, with significant experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts
- You have experience managing sweepstakes, contests, promotions and cause marketing, with strong understanding of applicable rules and regulationsIn-house experience in a tech, media or entertainment industry environment strongly preferred
- You are a self-starter: thrives on taking ownership of initiatives with limited oversight
- You have outstanding time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under short deadlines
- You have strong oral and written communication skills
- You have a desire to maintain a strong general understanding of emerging trends and changes to commercial laws and regulations and their enforcement
- You're able to think creatively and effectively balancing legal constraints with business goals
- You have a collaborative approach, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others
